History of Techwin

Techwin was founded in 2007 as Finken Holdings Limited. In 2021, we rebranded to Techwin Limited to better align the company name with its core operations.

Our Name: TECHWIN

The company is established to focus on the design, manufacturing, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of electro-mechanical plant and equipment.

Expands the product range of dairy, beverage, and food processing technology and equipment.
Achieves a high market share in the Kenyan dairy industry.

Establishment of a subsidiary company, Suntech Power Limited, to focus on solar power solutions and related energy systems.
The subsidiary introduces Suntech Power-branded solar water heaters.

In a strategic alliance with the Tanzania Private Sector Foundation (TPSF) and the Tanzania Milk Processors Association (TAMPA), the company enters the Tanzanian market to offer practical value addition solutions to the country's dairy industry.
Relocates from Westlands to Industrial Area, Nairobi, for more office and warehousing space.

The company designs and delivers complete environmentally controlled milk cooling plants that incorporate solar-powered solutions in Laikipia County.

In partnership with Milk Plan of Greece, the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries appoints the company to supply closed milk cooling plants with associated accessories across Kenya.

Entry into and export of milk cooling and processing systems into the markets of Uganda, Rwanda, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC).

Agreements with the Smallholders Dairy Commercialization Programme (SDCP) and the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) for the supply, installation, and maintenance of milk cooling systems in selected counties in Rift Valley and Western Kenya.
The subsidiary introduces Suntron-branded smart solar inverters and PV controllers, surface and submersible water pumps, and PV panels.
Strategic alliance with Leiwest Pak of China for the design, installation, and maintenance of an Aseptic Filling Machine in a major dairy processing plant. The plant is officially launched in June by His Excellency, President Uhuru Muigai Kenyatta.

The subsidiary Suntech Power installs and commissions a solar PV-Diesel hybrid power plant in Garissa.

Establishment of Techwin Industrial Park in the industrial area with offices, a showroom, a manufacturing plant, and a warehouse.
Agreement with Fastpol Sp Zo.o of Poland to install and commission milk cooling plants in various counties in Kenya.
The subsidiary designs, installs, and commissions a PV Grid Tie power plant at Ol Rongai, Nakuru.
Agribusiness Excellence Award 2019: Most preferred dairy equipment manufacturer and supplier brand of the year.
Design, supply, and commissioning of various milk cooling plants funded by the European Union.

Agreement with the Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) of Switzerland for the design, installation, and maintenance of various dairy and food processing plants in Kenya.
Installation of CNC equipment at our Nairobi workshop.
Partnership with USAID for the supply and installation of solar-powered cooling stations in Tana River County at the dairy value addition centers.
Partnership with the Ministry of Energy for the installation of solar-powered borehole pumping systems in the northern regions of Kenya.

Strategic alliance with Shanghai Beyond of China to design and install an automatic Cleaning In Place (CIP) system in a major dairy processing plant.
Partnership with the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) to supply, install, and maintain solar-powered milk cooling plants to support communities living near national parks in Kenya.
Partnership with Zetech University to create a modern center of excellence in hospitality training. All kitchen equipment is manufactured in-house by the Techwin workforce.
In partnership with the Ministry of Energy, the company supplied and installed solar water pumping systems in Wajir County.
Partnership with the Medium & Small Enterprises Authority (MSEA) to supply cold storage for potato farmers in Nyandarua County.
Strategic alliance with Pietribiasi SRL of Italy to supply, install, and maintain a dairy processing plant in West Pokot.
Rebranded to Techwin Limited.

Absorption of Suntech Power Limited into Techwin Limited while maintaining the Suntech Power brand for solar power systems.
Partnership with the Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) of Switzerland to supply solar-powered milk cooling stations in Wajir.
Partnership with Agricultural Cooperative Development International/Volunteers in Overseas Cooperative Assistance (ACDI/VOCA) to supply solar-powered cooling stations in Marsabit.
Installation of modern workshop flanging equipment and gantry crane.
Partnership with the Medium & Small Enterprises Authority (MSEA) to supply cold storage for horticulture farmers in Kisii County.
Partnership with Catholic Relief Services for the supply and installation of solar-powered dairy equipment in the arid and semi-arid lands (ASAL) regions of Northern Kenya.
Flagged off our first 100% locally fabricated assembled line pasteurizer and milk cooling tanks.
Partnership with the Rural Electrification and Renewable Energy Corporation (REREC) for the installation and maintenance of solar power systems for the last mile project in primary schools.
Partnership with Chuka University for the installation of a fully automated modern training dairy processing plant.

Partnership with Kiambu County to supply cold storage and value addition equipment to 16 dairy cooperatives within the county.
Partnership with the Kenya Dairy Board to improve the farmer awareness program in line with sustainable solutions in the dairy value chain.
Commissioning of the Olkalau cold storage facility by His Excellency, President Dr. William Samoei Ruto.
Partnership with Ravine Dairies to supply customized stainless steel dairy processing equipment.
Partnership with the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries, and Cooperatives to implement the Agriculture Sector Development Support Program (ASDSP) to support 20 dairy cooperatives and MSMEs in Nairobi County. The program is financed by the Embassy of Sweden and the European Union.
Partnership with Mutara Orchards to supply processing equipment and solarization of farm processes.
Partnership with the Kenya Climate Innovation Centre (KCIC) for the Positive Use of Solar Energy in the dairy value chain in Kenya (PUSE Program).
