We were privileged to participate in the Pre-Madaraka Agricultural Festivals, held from 27th to 31st May at Kibabii University in Bungoma County. This prestigious event, organized by the national government and the County Government of Bungoma through the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development, and themed “Agriculture and Food Security,” aimed to bring together key players in the agricultural sector to engage in in-depth discussions, analysis, and exhibitions of strategies and achievements in Kenya’s food security.
Launched by Agriculture Principal Secretary Paul Ronoh, the event, dubbed ‘Beta Kilimo,’ was marked by many exciting highlights, including the promotion of agricultural innovation, interactive demonstrations, and discussions on strategies and achievements in the country’s food security. As part of our commitment to advancing agricultural technology, we demonstrated how Techwin Limited's innovative climate-smart equipment contributes to food safety and security in the country. Showcasing modern food processing equipment that utilizes alternative renewable energy options, our team demonstrated to participants, including Dr. Juma Mukhwana, the Principal Secretary of the State Department for Industrialization, and Hon. Jonathan Mueke, the Principal Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development, how renewable energy technology can be used to increase productivity while lowering operational costs.
Our demonstrations featured solar-integrated cold storage technology, such as milk cooling tanks and cold rooms, and biogas-powered pasteurization equipment, along with various other dairy value chain equipment. These types of equipment illustrated how modernization in agricultural processing can help farmers and enterprises increase efficiency, reduce post-harvest losses, and boost profits through value addition.
The exhibition provided a valuable platform for direct engagement with farmers, industry experts, and leaders. We had meaningful discussions about the challenges facing the dairy sector and explored collaborative solutions to enhance food safety and sustainability. Additionally, the event facilitated networking with key players in the agricultural sector, including government officials, researchers, and fellow exhibitors, fostering potential partnerships and staying aligned with industry trends.
Looking Ahead:
Participating in the Pre-Madaraka Agricultural Exhibition underscored our dedication to supporting the agricultural community and contributing to national efforts towards food safety. Techwin Limited remains committed to providing innovative solutions that address the evolving needs of dairy farmers and promote sustainable agricultural practices.
We look forward to continuing our engagement with the agricultural sector and participating in future exhibitions and initiatives that align with our mission of advancing the dairy value chain through technology.
